Cut off the bottom of the taro and place it cut-side down on a baking tray lined with parchment paper

Steam in a steamer for about 20 minutes. If it is still hard when you poke it with a bamboo skewer, steam for an additional 5 to 10 minutes

Remove from the steamer and press a mixture of black sesame seeds and salt onto the cut surface

Serve in a bowl and it's finished.
