Basic potato salad
Steam the potatoes and carrots together to make them soft and peel them while they are still hot.
Coarsely crush the potatoes and chop the carrots into cubes.
Slice the cucumbers, rub salt and squeeze out the water.
Chop the ham and eggs roughly.
Mix everything in a bowl with mayonnaise and salt and pepper.
Rest in the fridge for 10 minutes to allow the flavor to blend.
