Petals and lily roots

It is best to dye only the edges of the lily root petals (the part cut with a knife), but depending on the type of food red used, the whole thing may dye. So if you want to make a large amount, it's a good idea to try a small amount first. You can cook the rice dumplings yourself or be available for commercial use.

How to make it
1

It is best to use a small part of the lily root on the inside. Use a knife to cut it and shape the petals.

2

Dissolve the food red in a small amount of hot water. Add some food redness dissolved in water with a little vinegar, add the lily root and heat it. The color tends to fade when cooked with honey, so it's a good idea to make a liquid to a slightly darker color.

3

Place over low heat and cook for 1-2 minutes. Once the colour is solid, take it out. Remove in ice water and remove rough heat.

4

Put [A] in a pot and heat to a boil. Turn off the heat, add the lily roots from [3], bring to a boil again, remove from the heat, and place the pot in ice water to cool.

5

Sprinkle a few [4] in a bowl filled with boiled roe and it's finished.
