How to make it

Peel the turnips and simmer them in a pot with kelp and water, covered with a drop lid, for about 30 minutes until soft. (If you have any leftover turnip leaves, simmer them briefly in the same pot until they turn golden brown.)

When the turnips have become translucent and soft, place them on a serving dish, pour a moderate amount of white miso paste over them, and add about 1 tablespoon of the cooking water from [1] to complete the dish
