Turnip simmered in milk with bacon
Peel the turnip, leaving about 2-3 cm of the base, and cut it into 10 equal pieces. Wash thoroughly with water to remove any soil from the roots. Cut the bacon into 1 cm wide pieces
Heat salad oil in a frying pan, add the drained turnip and bacon and fry
Once the bacon is browned and the turnip is lightly charred, add the milk, salt and light soy sauce and bring to a gentle boil
Remove [3] from the heat for a moment, add the water-dissolved potato starch, and thicken the mixture. Transfer to a clay pot and place over an open flame. Once it starts to boil and thicken further, sprinkle with black pepper and it's done
