Squid is an essential seafood in Japanese food culture. Tsukeyaki is a simple and popular cooking method that brings out the delicious flavor of squid. Here we will introduce a basic recipe for tsukeyaki squid

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • Squid: appropriate amount
  • Soy sauce: 4 tablespoons
  • Mirin: 3 tablespoons
  • salad oil: a little
  • Vinegared ginger: as needed

How to make it

  1. Remove the legs from the squid, open it up, and make diagonal cuts on both sides. Cut off the tips of the legs and the suckers
  2. Marinate the squid in 4 tablespoons of soy sauce and 3 tablespoons of mirin, and leave for at least 20 minutes to season
