What is Shishitogarashi?

Shishi Chicken is a chili pepper that looks spicy at first glance, but it is actually an improved variety with little spicyness. Sometimes spicy foods are mixed in, but this is the result of mating with a nearby spicy chicken syrup. It is not possible to distinguish between the pain just by appearance.

  • Chicken: 24 bottles
  • Dashi: 1 cup
  • Boiled egg yolk: a little

How to make it

  1. Preparation : Wash the pepper and wipe off the water thoroughly. Use the tip of the knife to make 2-3 holes and insert six into a golden skewer.
  2. Match the seasonings : Put the dashi in a bowl and add 2 tsp of sake and 3 tbsp of light soy sauce.
  3. Bake : Grill the skewer peppers on a skewer over an open flame and cook until they are cooked. Once cooked, remove from the skewer and soak in seasoning to cool.
  4. Finish : Once cool, chill the juice in the fridge, then place in a bowl and topped with boiled egg yolk.

  • Ground beef: 100g
  • Green onions and ginger: a little each
  • Salt, salad oil, soy sauce: suitable amounts for each

How to make it

  1. Preparation : Cut the chicken vertically with a knife and remove the seeds inside using a pile or something similar. Chop the green onions and ginger into small pieces.
  2. Create a filling : Add some green onion, ginger and salt to the ground beef, mix well, then stuff it into shishi and pepper. Stick three into the pcp at a time.
  3. Bake : Heat 2 tsp salad oil in a frying pan and grill the meat side of the stuffed shishi peppers down. Once browned, turn it over and cook over low heat.
  4. Finish : Finally, spin 1 tsp of soy sauce, remove from the heat and serve in a bowl.
